Meet Jessica Herweyer
Jessica Herweyer is a Canadian artist who resides in Canada's capital. She graduated from the University of Ottawa where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2013. After completing her university education Jessica focused on starting a family. Currently, she is continuing to follow her passion of becoming a professional artist. Jessica is an active member of the Nepean Fine Arts League where she holds the position as Gallery Coordinator. Her work has been exhibited publicly in various group exhibitions and art sales. In addition Jessica's art is in private collections in Canada.
A love for arts and crafts has a long tradition among Jessica's family. In her artistic practice she blends aspects of passed down traditions with her educational training. The growth of Jessica's family and the birth of her children continues to help shape her artistic voice. The mixed media artwork she creates are called Patched Paintings. These artworks are intended to bring back nostalgic memories and inspire hope for the future. Patched Paintings are reminders of people, places or moments of significance. She intends to connect and inspire others to appreciate the good things in life. This has become Jessica's mission which she wants to share with the world. To do this she creates unique art to display, cherish, and inspire others to celebrate life.
