Meet Jessica Herweyer

Jessica Herweyer is a Canadian artist who resides in Canada's capital.  She graduated from the University of Ottawa where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.  Jessica holds the position as Gallery Coordinator with The Nepean Fine Arts League.  Her work has been exhibited publicly in various group exhibitions and art sales.  In addition Jessica's art is in various private collections in Canada.

The growth of Jessica's family and the experiences of raising a family continues to help shape her artistic voice. Currently, she is juggling various roles  such as full time caregiver, teacher, and working from home like many other parents during the pandemic.  Jessica is continuing to follow her passion of becoming a professional artist and combining it with her compassion for others. Art can help Jessica create dialogue and connect with others. Improving the quality of life through therapeutic art practices is a journey Jessica is excited to continue exploring.

A love for arts and crafts has a long tradition among Jessica's family. In her artistic practice she blends aspects of passed down traditions with her educational training. The mixed media artwork she creates are called Patched Paintings.  Patched Paintings can be reminders of people, places or moments of significance. She intends to connect and inspire others to appreciate the good things in life. This has become Jessica's mission which she wants to share with the world. To do this she creates unique art to display, cherish, and inspire others to celebrate life.
